I have finally started on my kit, bought last year. The flame veneer top and mahogany back looks really good to me, so I am going for a natural finish. Can't get DingoTone in the UK, so bought some finish from Crimson Guitars. I am sure I read some advice from DingoBass about rubbing the top with 400, so that it what I did, trying to smooth out the slightly cracked bottom end. Then I looked at the current advice, which is not to touch the top! Never mind, didn't make it worse or rub through. However, I did manage to chip a bit of veneer when reaming put the holes to take upgraded pots. Have rubbed the back and sides up to 400 - do I need to do more?
