Brave man wanting to add binding.
I deliberately look for kits without as they are much easier to finish unless you want a separate colour for the top.

Yes i know, hence the pun about chinese replacement. I may reall stuff this one up. But that is why im going with paint and not stain, bog the painters companion.

Binding is still a pain unless you want a line of separation for different colours on top compared to rest of the body.

What i think i want to achieve is using the binding to be the contrast for a guitar with just one colour, dont know just yet, still playing around with ideas.

Depending on how heavy that top edge radius is you may be forced to not only have a binding, but a Purfling strip inside it as well. All of which would make it a pretty unique Tele!
