    Tuff Dog in action

    Greetings all.

A couple of songs we have recorded since the beginning of October, both featuring the Tuff Dog Tele.

Max Richards - vocals & acoustic rhythm
    Bob Browne - backing vocals
    Wes Grady - pedal steel
Dave King - electric guitars, bass, MIDI stuff ( recording engineer / mixing / production )

The lead guitar parts are the Fender Mustang on the 65 Twin setting mic'd and the finger picking, rhythm and bass is all DI

Recorded at Dead Mouse Studio & mixed at Little Petal

    Hope you enjoy them

Did a remix of Lost Love ( URL unchanged ) to tighten things up, a few timing issues that I had missed in the original mix and also lifted the vocal track 1.6db to bring it forward a bit but without it overpowering the backing

Just did a pretty major remix of Road To Forbes, adding side chain compression to the fingerpicking, steel triggered off the vocal and bass guitar triggered off the kick.

Hopefully more pleasing to the ears now

You have been busy there in Nashville South ;-) Sounds great!

Could you post something about the Tele, Strat and Bass in your recent tracks. Would love to see what you have done with them build wise.

I know you didn't build the pedal steel, but OMG it sounds awsome!

The pedal steel is a single neck Emmons from the 1970s DI into Reaper

There's not much to tell about the three builds they are pretty straight forward, the two 6 stringers have Tonerider pups and the bass has GFS PB bass and MM HB pups

My main bass is a 1970s Yamaha 30" scale with a Fender HB ( Seth Lover ) pup in place of the original P90 style pup

The Tuff Dog was built as a tribute to Merle Haggard, roughly 30% of our setlist through the 70s & 80s were Merle's songs
