OOH you are a task master are you not. I do have a Dremel with heaps of attachments.....so gouging out a recess in a piece of binding to drop a single mother of pearl dot in there is not beyond me.

I even think that just a straight piece of binding across behind the Nut between the nut and the TRC with a dot in in the middle.

I have some pieces of wood veneer here....and a section of white binding....that I could mount a couple of pieces of the tortoiseshell binding to. Then perhaps cut a TRC from that item into this shape.....

Now that is funny...actually had a big smile and laughed out loud.

I will try to shorten the length of the control wires....just for you....so I can step a little closer.

I think this is one of the prettiest kits I have seen on PBG. I don't want to over do it, but I still want it to be unique. This is a good place to start that I think.

The binding and the inlays and gold hardware all add up to something that says wildly organic to me.

Good on you Graham. I find the hardest part for me is choosing what colours, stains, finish to use. The actual doing of the build is quite relaxing and if you take your time it is relaxing.

I want to do something with that amazing top....but not over the top...but maybe a stain colour under nice gloss clear finish....perhaps a tinted poly finish.....a similar finish on the headstock.

I think I will pore fill, spray poly the body in gloss on the back....satin on the neck....maybe some CA glue after a couple of poly coats to make a completely flat surface.

But the top is taxing me.....is it screaming light colour in the middle and darker edges to anybody else? Maybe just an all over soft colour with the natural body colour differences filling the shading in? Perhaps even a differing edge colour....maybe a rubbed oil and wax sides...with gloss top and back....something different.

See graham it is a nightmare for me....aaaaaahhhhhh.

The purfling is what had be confused as to how to finish this one.
I was thinking leaving the front alone and matching up one of the brown shades from the purfling for the sides and back, keep it looking natural and organic. Probably the first and last time I would want to use brown.
Looking forward to see what you do.
I think this is the problem I faced when I made a purchase out of the specials bin. It’s not as if I had an idea in mind and brought the kit to match. I brought the kit and had to come up with the idea of how it was going to turn out.

Bury it! bury it in the deepest, darkest, triple pigment black you can find so that no one will know what grainy secrets lay hidden beneath!
