This shim should be delivered tomorrow. What do you all think is the best process for gluing? These are the 3 ways options:
    A. glue all the pieces together at the same time
    B. glue the shim in the neck pocket and let dry, then glue the neck in
    C. glue the shim to the neck heel and let dry, then glue neck in

I’d be recommending option 2. Once the shim is in the pocket and completely dry, you can do a test fit for the neck and adjust if needed.
option 1 will be a gluey, slippery nightmare.
option 3 as option 1 with the added complication of trying to glue and clamp small bits of shim that will want to move everywhere but where you need them. At least in the bottom of the pocket, they will be more or less retained while you clamp them.

Hand crafting guitars, because Death Rays are expensive.

Looks a bit oversized but that is a good thing.
Suggest cutting down to correct size, dry fit with neck clamped on top of shim, and then check neck break angle and how high strings might be above bridge saddles.
If all looks good, glue shim 1st, allow at least 24 hours and then glue neck.
If it is a bit high above bridge it may need a small amount trimmed off the thick end of the wedge.
    Cheers, Waz

It's the right size. It was much larger but I sanded it down to correct size.

I have this glue on hand. Will this be good for the gluing?

Usually Titebond with the red label is the one to use.

Ok thanks, I'll pick some of that up tomorrow

The reason to use red label ‘original’ is that it can be steamed to remove the neck (if ever needed) whereas the other versions are more heat and water resistant.
    Scott.
