before you do any drilling for the wider posts you better check the block below is wide enough. Should be able to see from the bridge pup hole

'As long as there's, you know, sex and drugs, I can do without the rock and roll.'
What do you reckon of drilling vs a solution like this?

But yeah- anyone with a drill press in perth that can help?![]()
Ihasmario the method looks ok for lengthening the bridge but for wider holes (hence offset pins to the side) the bridge may move around a bit, you won't know till you try it. You will also need a different thread/bush for the much smaller thread.
I have a drill press but its only small, only has a reach of about 105mm from memory. Your body will be probably more than that with the largish starcaster body

Yeah man, the offset side of the body needs about 11-12 cm.
have you checked if the block under the bridge is wide enough to drill the wider holes ?

Looks like there's a lot extra. Like an extra cm either side.
I also noticed that there's no hole for grounding going from the posts to the cavity.
I gave DB a visit and it's sitting with him now. Whether he ends up doing some offset posts or plug and drill is anyones guess.
Saves me the trouble of having to sort out what to do with the blasted thing... I don't have the time to worry about it too much right now
