I'm going to post this here as most will say its ugly. its for sale on Ebay atm, if I had 2.5 K it would be mine! I'll be looking for a cheaper one in April when I'm in Japan. Its a Firstman Liverpool from the early 70's

    Yes! THat's yummy....
"If it's Blues music in a bar and it helps people swallow their drink of choice, or it's a dance song and people get up off their chairs and shuffle their feet, or it's a Jazz tune and the Chardonnay tastes so much better... then it's all good."

@ Dedman That guitar isn't ugly per se, it actually has a kind of coolness about it, sort of like Paul McCartney's Hofner Violin Bass, but then maybe I'm too much of a traditionalist.

Given how whippy SG necks are, having a couple of inches of extra support probably seemed like a good idea at the time. And it probably still had better upper fret access than a Les Paul. I think it's the top half of the scratch plate that ruins it as it doesn't run with the body curve like the bottom half does.

Hand crafting guitars, because Death Rays are expensive.
