went with the dark star pickups and also bought some 500k tone pots. the 250k pots dont do much when you adjust them.
i chose the dark star as i want to tune this guitar at c. so i thought they would suit better.
i did a quick swap of the pickups last night (grab the prs se pick ups) and wow a huge difference. now i know next time i will be buying upgraded pickups for sure.

Bit late catching up with this thread and love what you have done. Very sexy in an all natural finish.

Understand why you may have gone with Entwistles as they are cheaper and I did the same on my Son's guitar and they sound OK but if your budget can stretch to the price of a set of Toneriders they have more tonal varieties to pick from and most sound awesome.

    Cheers, Waz

thanks guys, yeah im going to get the tonerider rocksongs for my prs next which should be good. the standard prs se pickups sound good in the flying v at the moment, i cant wait until i put the dark star in it. i got the 500k tone pots also to help with the tone as the 250k ones dont do much.

Hey guys, I'm super excited i got the dark star pickups. one thing the pickups come with 5 wires coming out of them not the usual 2. any tips or help on how i wire these babies up?
My setup is just the 2 humbuckers with 1 volume and 2 tones. as per dedmans wiring diagram he sent earlier on this thread.

    thanks again guys.

Hey Brokin, is there any paperwork on wire colours ? There should be 4 wires plus a bare earth wire. Since you won't be splitting the humbuckers 2 wires will be joined and insulated to connect the north and south pups of the humbucker. Then there will be a hot wire and earth wire which you will pair the bare earth wire to the insulated earth wire. I'll have a quick search for Darkstar wire colours. Maybe if you can please post a photo of the wires from the pups
