    Oil tank... the gas tank is hand painted not airbrushed... its really good but old and has some chips

    I'm puzzled Jbird, so the oil tank is used to keep the oil cleaner ? It cycles to and from the engine I presume. Must be an old bike engine design.

    ok cheers Jbird, the only time I seen an oil tank on a bike is for 2 stroke oil. Better let Moose carry on with his Indian TL-1 build diary hahah

    That's the Harley dry sump motor. They've made them like that since the 30's, though mine seems to be a wet sump design.

    Moose set the bar high with his first guitar, so this one should be good!

    that's what I thought Swanny must be a dry sump motor. The V8 supercars series run a dry sump motor, sump in the boot (or trunk for yanks haha)
