Thanks, man - and yeah, I did indeed and I could justify it because I was playing out and 'needed' the sound that another could give me! Now, though, they sit in their cases, under a tarp in the shed....

These are all, bar 2, products of the Matsumoku plant in Japan between 1978 and 1987 and are just superb playing guitars!!

My better half and youngest lad are the archers; those targets are from an international event they did last year where they both picked up gongs...

yeah cool Corsair I don't know much about Vantage guitars but know the Japanese build a damn fine product in just about all things manufactured there. Hope your shed doesn't get too hot would hate to see a neck warp from the heat !

Yes, they did, and I assume stiil do, make a fine guitar! Warped necks; the very thought makes my teeth itch, eh! They are in a cool corner, and under cover with silica gel bags in each case - they haven't moved so far!

The Vantage range encompassed basic to exotic, and whilst I played a VA 900 onstage for 20+ years without backup, nowadays I'd take the P90 Avenger because it's light, handy and eminently playable!

The lap steel is a Made in NZ Commodore and was made in the late 50s... I think! It had a really weird, oddball output jack that I replaced with a standard 6mm jack but is otherwise OEM, and a real beast! I use it in C6, E9, Em or G11. Being a six string limits it a bit, but it's still great fun to play!!

no worries Corsair, if you mean under a ventilated patio they should be fine. In my early days of guitar building a mate left a neck to cure in my hot shed over a Perth summer (not very well ventilated) and the neck warped to an unusable state. My shed probably gets above 50 degrees centigrade though on a hot Perth day

That is a crazily awesome collection there, Corsair.

Mine is pretty spartan by comparison:

Nothing too outrageous or exotic in there. Or original for that matter. From left to right:

    - Aria Pro II SL-STD3
    - "Custom Guitar Workshop" EDS-1275 knock off
    - DeArmond M-77T
    - Marlique Reborn "Broken Wings"
    - "Human" branded LTD F series knock off (belongs to the wife)
    - Squier Jazz Bass

    alright...

In the left corner we have the soulful side, the vintage and acoustic collection
Martinez Banjo, 52 partscaster, 84 Fender D'aquisto elite, 2007 Fender acoustic and 32 Dobro acoustic

In the far right corner we have the offset crew in all their slightly weird but oh so sexy glory

2011 Fender Kurt Cobain Jag, "fang' the PBG mustang, up top is a vintage correct Squier Jag and on the right is the PBG "shoegazer"

in the other? right corner we have my beloved 2009 Fender Billy Corgan Strat (my first real guitar) then my PBG ES335 and PBG SG, up top is my Mellon collie tribute super strat.

check out the fret board wear on the dobro!
This belonged to my Grandfather, I never met him but Nan kept this stashed away in the cupboard (still in its original case)
He was good mates with Jimmy Little and would lend this to Jimmy when he needed one.

Woks collection is so large it can be seen with the naked eye from Mars......

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....

some random little highlights as well...

    got this early 2012

my little 20w acoustic amp I made from an old fruit box and chicken wire

my 1800s chaise lounge I got from Nan ( I designed the entire room around it haha)

    stompland!

right to left... Slash Wah > Big Muff > Green Rino overdrive > Rat Distortion > Boss Noisegate > MXR Phase 90 > Boss acoustic simulator (good for heavy reverb) > Boss DD7 delay > 100w 2 channel Fender amp (I have it set up super clean on one side and dirty Marshal tones on the other)

@ Mick love your collection and the photography helps for sure. Some very impressive axes in the collection and love the memorabillia and old Dobro guitar from your grandad what a treasure that is !
As DB says I would need too many photos to show my entire collection haha no GAS here !
