Really nice color.
Not really helping me to figure out what I'll do to my tele but still awesome!

Coming up great 👍🏻
Ok. So I’ve managed to level frets, get it all together and strung up.
But this little bugger buzzes almost everywhere on the fretboard!
I think I’ve got two issues
1. Getting the nut right for the strings to rest on the zero fret
2. Waiting for the strings to pull the neck up so I get a little to bow in the neck
Anyway....... here are a some shots.

Kit pickups: Plugged in the guitar has an amazing sound. Really surprisingly good!
The neck has an amazing boom to it whilst the bridge is bright and clear.
The bridge pickup is a little quieter than the neck and I tried to bring it up but it is up as far as it can go. Maybe I’ll take the springs and cut them in half to get a little more height.

It looks unreal. Setup is always something you need to creep up on, hopefully with some use and time strung up you'll be able to dial it in nicely. I do really like the shape and style of these guitars.
Build 1 - Shoegazer MK1 JMA-1
Build 2 - The Relliecaster TL-1
Build 3 - The Black Cherry SG AG-1
Build 4 - The Sonicaster TL-1ish
Build 5 - The Steampunker Bass YB-4
Build 6 - The Howling Gowing ST-1
"What I lack in talent I make up for with enthusiasm"
I think you’re so right on that Sonic.
Been stealthily tweaking it and....... It’s been strung up for a month and it’s now playing kinda/quite well.
Here’s what’s happened in the last month.
1. Neck has a little bow in it which has removed all of the buzzing. Still got a little more bow to achieve though.
2. The truss rod is still completely loose
3. Lowered the bridge.
4. Took the height adjustment springs out of the bridge pup. To get closer to the strings as it was just a little bit too quiet compared to the booming neck pup.
5. Level frets, crown frets, clean texta off frets
6. Destroyed the zero fret trying to take off the plastic nut.
6. Bought a set of frets and replaced the zero fret with a new one.
7. Put on new nut with properly cut slots. I’ve discovered that a fret saw blade will cut the fret slots pretty well !!
I bought a pack of ten (cheap. I think $8) Only used one of them. Beauty!
8. Ordered some string trees for the A&D and the G&B strings (not installed yet)
The ash body has a really nice resonance when I play unplugged which is kinda nice as I do that a lot to avoid getting in trouble with my boss lady.
I’ll put some photos up shortly.
Hooray for guitars!!!

If it's buzzing on open strings that probably means nut slots still too high. Had same thing on mine.

TL-1 (just arrived)
IB-1S
MK-2
RC-1
Right..... I got the slots down far enough.
Lots of buzz removed but it is still there.
Oh well. Also Looks like I butchered the nut. Lucky its just the plastic one.
I’ve got a spare bone one somewhere that I’ll prep up once I get a little bow on the neck..........
To be continued.....

What happens when you use a low e string to cut a slot for the high e string????
Doh!
