I'd probably give it another coat of clear before anything else and see if it needs another level after that. That doesn't look to bad in the pic and the milkiness should disappear with another top coat.

That looks like solvent boil. Unfortunately the only way to fix that is to re base the colour and clear it again.

Try to put your first coats of base and clear on quite light as too wet will reactivate the paint underneath and it’ll fry up.

    Hope this helps mate

Thanks richy. I ended up having to sand back a bit. Trying to sand just the front of the headstock, fingers crossed I can make it look the same as the rest.

The body has had as much lacquer as I can afford allthough it doesn’t look like it.
    Hopefully it polishes up well.

It has polished up pretty good. I’m surprised at how much lighter the colour is now after it has been shined up compared before

Wrestling with the intonation here. It is 313mm from the nut to the 12th fret. When I measure from the 12th to where the bridge and pickup fit in the saddles are maxed out to get close to 313mm. Is it a case of routing out the cavity to move the bridge closer to the neck? Wanna get this right before I drill holes for the bridge.

Hmmm, I thoughthe scale length on my TLa kit was about 322mm............ if that was correct you would be right

I have a different neck going on mine.

Are the principles correct though? I’d need to move the bridge forward towards the neck?

The same seems apparent with my other build

I was certain I checked when I got the kit.

In the meantime, the neck pickup cavity is too big for the mounting ring. Trying 4 cut and sanded dowels glued to the corners so the screws for the mounting ring have enough wood to catch. I have no idea if it will work...will wait until tomorrow for it to dry. On the last kit I did I just made bigger mounts from scratchplate material so I will go back to that if this fails
