Yeah, it really is. It's why I have had such trouble deciding on a logo - it just always seems to look better without one!

Put the logo on the back of the headstock....
    Scott.

Oh, I like that idea too. I could print that myself, which makes it tempting

Getting there slowly, doing a bit here and there whenever I can find some spare time. This is with the first go at wet sanding with TO and 800 grit. Sorry the pics aren't the best...

Be careful of the edges around the cavities - it is super easy to break through on a hard edge when cutting back. I would go so far as to mask it and about 2mm onto the body. Buffing will even it out pretty quickly.

Ah, good thinking - it has been a pain I have to admit. Because I've been using TO with stain mixed in I've been 'getting around it' by putting down a few coats between each go with the sandpaper, which so far has worked to build up enough colour to cover the areas where I've gone through. The problem of course is that then the stain is only suspended in a few thin coats of oil and I just end up going back through it lol.

    Will mask it better tonight.

Thanks again for the hot tip Sonic. Yesterday I re-stained the bits I'd scuffed, and then extended the masking this evening and had another go over with the 800 + TO. It made it a hell of a lot easier, and no danger of scuffing or sanding through those cavity edges!
