Anyhoo, moving right along....
A bit of progress today, after a late start (10:30 am)........
Routed neck pocket and body cavities then fired up the bandosaurus and cut the shape.
Cleaned it up on the router table, nearly removing a finger in the process.
Pro tip: Dont get distracted when using the router table....
Spent a bit of time pfaffing around routing the pup holes.. tried a new method using straight edges rather than a template. Wont bother doing that again.......
Next up was routing a shallow groove for the earth plate, will talk more about that later.
Shellac applied to body cavities then rough cut the drop top.
Glued top on. I do this in two stages, using a backstop to locate the first half then when the first half is glued and clamped I glue the second half on.
Clamps off and a wipe down with damp rag to pop the figure. Very noice, just wish I could remember what the timber is.... think it is Bloodwood or Flood Gum.........
Then split a few off cuts to make pup covers and surrounds.
5pm, time for a well earned beer.
