Alright guys I think I might need some advice at this stage.

After, 3 coats of primer and 2 coats of colour, I think i'll put one more colour on, then its time for the clear coats.

I had previously purchased some White Knight clear acrylic. I think a read some bad reports about using acrylic as a finish but I can't remember. Is poly better.....I don't know? any advice would be greatly appreciated.

getting there Andy looking good. What brand of primer and black paint have you used ? best use the same brand for the clear coats. So many times I've changed brands of paint and the clear coats have rejected and bubbled up

no worries Andy, well its an enamel paint the Dulux Duramax. Safest bet would be see if they have a clear gloss or satin in their range. Couldn't see any on the website but maybe that's just the colour range
    http://www.dulux.com.au/products/dul...ax-spray-paint

I've had good results with White Knight clear but that was using White Knight colour paints.
Check out your hardware/auto shop or paint shop and see if Dulux do an enamel clear paint

Looking good Andy. As Woks said, keep to same type of paint / finish else things may get a bit funky

Acrylic can be an easily used, and finished product, but can take ages to cure ... I've used it before and will be trying something else next time, and don't mix acrylic and enamel finishes, it can be done but can lead to a world of pain, enjoy

my general rule of thumb has always been enamels over acrylics..OK, the other way around leads to loss of hair and the air turning blue. I still ALWAYS do tests. I've often used spray cans of clear enamel over auto acrylics as they are often slightly yellow and give an aged look

Hi buddy, that looks awesome in the black and hope you have an easy time with the clear coats stage. How is the curing time? Quicker or slower than DT?

Ummm light speed fast? as you know we've had coldish weather (for Brissy - except for the one week) together with high humidity. Thats lengthening DT curing times to between 7 and 14 days.

I can't keep up with the paint. Works a bit crazy I literally have time for one coat per day if i'm lucky

I've had to slow down a bit now while i work out the headstock logo before the clear coats.
