I love that TRC! Is that "Dymaxion Script"? I made one for my bass that was very similar looking, but went with wood, no logo instead..
Great looking guitar!

Hopefully I get my build in for April GOTM!! Got 9 days :/ might still end up in May
Yes that is Dymaxion Script as it is really the only font that gives the unique E that is used on Rickenbackers but I was told the original is a hybrid of the Dymaxion and Rocket font but how true that is I don't know.
I was bought up in the 70's and there was always a certain sexual innuendo and I can remember a friend of the family using the term dickywacker. My Dad used to call me Dick as my first name is Richard which then got changed to Dicky by him and my mates. When I first looked at the guitar I really couldn't fully produce the same logo due to copyright and the fact the original font is a hybrid and I wanted to do the kit justice by being reasonably close. Originally it was going to be a Dickybacker but it just didn't roll off the tongue and then due to a certain warped sense of humour it evolved into a Dickywacker in memory of the 70's.
Dikkybee, looks great - so you made you own tailpiece? do you have pics of the process?

I work with machines that use a computer that has a program to operate them and the tailpiece is from a solid piece of 316 Stainless steel and if I took a camera in and documented what I did I would probably be out of jail in 3-5 years so the short answer is no. By trade I am a Toolmaker and is one reason why I wanted to do the Rick as it allows me a certain amount of creativity but I am about to be made redundant so this will be my last creative creation. But most guitars use standard parts which are easy to get off the shelf but I will in some time in the future set up a little workshop to allow me to do simple parts but not like the tailpiece.
Nice and vague answer..lol!

I never knew ASIO had a fabrication department!
