Hey Waz, for admitting buying the slug tape from the big green shed you will be sent straight to the naughty warehouse mate. What beverage would you like me to pour you ?

DB would probably reckon a long tall glass of Draino is in order but I would much rather one of WA's finest Craft Beers.
haha sure Waz, I'll pour you one of many fine WA craft beers, I doubt DB would allow NW inmates to drink Draino !

No pictures as today's efforts was just rewiring to get rid of the buzzing and thankfully mission accomplished. Seems like some of the earth wires on back of volume pot may not have been done properly.
All strung up and just waiting to be properly intonated plus action setup done on my next day off work.
Looks like a bit of a state of origin match going on with the colours of these two guitars you are building.
Good one Fuzzbeard.
Always wanted a Candy Apple Red with Maple Fret Board and the Ash bodied J Bass looked the best fit for that. With the Tele it took me a while to come up with a colour to show off the flame top. It could have been yellow, orange, or green but in the end went for as close to turquoise/aqua as I could get.....didn't even think about state loyalties and apologise and seek forgiveness from all Queenslanders. But you have got to admit the blue does look nice, just not in the depths of winter in this part of the country. May have to keep it in hiding until after 13 July when Qld raise the trophy aloft once again.
After buying 2 more bridges finally installed the 2nd one this afternoon which is more of a traditional ash tray design with 6 individual saddles. The 3rd one had saddles similar to modern strat's but they rode too high off the deck and couldn't adjust the action down low enough.
Through all the swapping and changing the bridge Wilkinson PUP stopped working??? Multimeter showed current but still no sound? Thankfully the stock Chinese one was lying around and still works and sounds almost OK and will do for now as I need to get on with fine tuning the action and intonation. Maybe down the track an upgrade bridge PUP might be installed and there are plenty of options out there, just need to get this thing finished to make sure there are no other gremlins as this one has dead set been my problem child with most of the issues being centred around intonation. Hopefully on the home stretch now.

Gray Waz,
Looks rather tasty, as for the pups ex member Tony of Village Pickups does a really nice 52 Blackguard set at a very good price that I am more than happy to recommend as a satisfied customer.
Also got a dog ear P90 from him that is streets ahead of the factory item it replaced in my mates lap steel
Thanks Dave. What sort of coin are we talking about?
Looked at a few replacements earlier tonight and various ones were rambling on about need for matched sets, blah, blah, blah so as to work properly when both neck and bridge are selected together? Might have another look at the damaged one tomorrow as all day it kept nagging at me whilst at work and reckon it might just be one of those tiny wires that has come adrift somewhere near the base plate. Could always buy another Wilko to stick with the 'Matched Set' principle as when it did work they both sounded great on their own and also together.

Found the reason why the bridge PUP had stopped working.....
The tiny single strand of ultra fine copper wire had broken off at the solder joint. Soldered it back on today, tap tested and it worked so dropped it back in and sounds all good again. Still need to find a bit more spare time to fine tune the action and have a final crack at the intonation. In the home straight with just some TO touch ups to do in a few places.
