$52 for a set is pretty good value

next build sounds interesting, the ash tele's can come up really nice which I'm sure yours will
They are almost identical to those on my Gibbo SG except Gibbo use 'modern' screw in bushings (although not sure if they use same in their 'vintage' re-issue axes). So far so good with keeping in tune...

Had a crack at fixing the earthing issue. After investigation I did inadvertently solder through braiding to core at one point. Never mind, lesson learned for next time.

Ripped it all out and redid the lot. I used a star earth arrangement connecting earth from bridge, pup and input jack to the shielding (a metal hoop thingy that screws into the cavity wall).

P90 now as it should be with noise kicking in about volume 7 onwards where the need to strategically position yourself away from amp helps..

I'll let this settle for a week or so then set up properly.

Mate where did you find the ground loop? I've been trying to find a new supply for them since my old one ran out and doesn't eBay anymore.

Wiring looks nice and neat Andrew! Personally I solder directly to the shielding and it works a treat. Another gorgeous build dude. Any chance of a sound demo? These things kick all kinds of serious ass, and a mahogany body will kick even more!!

    cheers,
    Gav.

Got the headstock decal on. This is a hacked up horizontal 'between the tuners' style decal you usually find on a G type LP. Colour gold to match with body scheme.

I'll give this a day or so to dry then take off the strings and TO the headstock face a few times. Decal is very thin so won't take much coverage.

Then time to whip out good set of strings for final setup, yay.

Image may be on its side as I'm posting from my phone..

Hey Gav, here's a quick sound demo. An abridged version of Summertime Blues (Who version). Sounds a bit rough as recorded on phone with high amp gain but will get some better sound demos up over the next few days or so. The pup volume was only on 4.
