I'd go with the first one, but both look great!
I actually prefer the second one across the top of the headstock, I think it's more balanced visually. But, if you want it to be seen and shown off while in the playing position then it makes sense to run it down the centre... although, I'd check how it looks with the tuners in place first.

If you go with the second option you can get a decal with a name for the guitar as well, kinda like the Les Paul headstocks!
