Pumice the back of the neck.
    Cheers Simon.

Haven’t heard of pumice on the back of the neck before. Any pointers, I’m assuming it’s an alternative to using steel wool for taking some of the shine off?

I used Birchwood Casey (TruOil) Stock and Sheen Conditioner on the back of my first build. Smooth.

    Gunsmiths stock it.

You could probably make a paste yourself pretty easily.

    Cheers for the input!
I’ve used tru oil on the neck anyway so sounds like using their stock and sheen conditioner would be an easy way to go

Put in a fair amount of elbow grease today.
Starting to get that gloss that I am after!

    Cheers McCreed.

Pretty happy with it. Didn’t think I would be able to get tru oil to come up like that.
Definitely somethings I can improve on/would do differently next time but for my first attempt I’m happy

Sensational. To get that with TruOil, it's a lot of prep and a lot of coats!

    Have you started the neck?
