Abalone dots, a 250k push pull pot and a jack plate arrived today. Put more coats of black on the body and front of the headstock.
Will do some wiring on Friday, can't clear the head stock until I get stickers, can't get stickers until I have the pickguard for the Jazzy because they are all getting printed together (along with some for a kit I don't even have yet LOL)

good stuff Dedman. Glad some goodies came in the post. There is always something in the post that delays a build. Worth planning the hardware right at the start of the build and order it ASAP so it arrives in snail mail ! haha

LOL yea Wokka, I have pick ups and a bridge in the mail for kits I don't even have and I usually have plenty of pots on hand, but never needed a 250k push pull before ;D

Wired the strat pick guard today, haven't tested it yet but looks right :P 5 way with a push pull to add "all on" on position 2 or 4.
Made a white spacer to go under the black jack plate to match the pick guard. Was hoping to do more painting but it was pouring rain today.

'All on in position 2 and 4'? Are you sure?

It's normal to just add in the neck or bridge pickup output to the selector switch output. With pos. 1 being bridge and pos. 5 being neck, (for neck addition) you can get bridge + neck* in pos. 1, all on* in pos. 2, mid +neck in pos. 3, mid + neck in pos 4. and neck in pos. 5

If you add in the bridge pup with the switch, you get the same extra sounds just in different positions. Bridge in pos. 1, bridge+mid in pos. 2, bridge+ mid in pos. 3, all on* in pos 4. and bridge + neck* in pos. 5.

(* = new sound combinations with switch engaged).

If you use the switch to add in both the neck and bridge to the output of the selector switch you get

Bridge + neck* in pos. 1, all on* in pos. 2, all on* in pos. 3, all on* in pos 4. and bridge + neck* in pos. 5.

Which does give you the new sounds but you lose all the other standard positions and is a lot less flexible.

I see. Swings and roundabouts really. The bridge+neck is the one with the most variation in sound to stock. The all-on position isn't that different to the bridge+mid position. There is a difference, so it's worth having, but its very slight compared to the bridge + neck combination.

Hi Dedman, I was down at Helensvale earlier today and was nearly going to PM you for a catch up but my meeting ran longer than expected. Not as much rain as forecast but enough to prevent any painting. Like the additional combos the push-pull provides.

    Cheers, Waz
