Does anyone have a template for the drilled standard LP kit headstock?
I've measured and marked up based on a Standard Gibson LP and it all seems a bit wrong.

Hi Frankie,
This is the one I used for my LP and 335 builds. Most times it didn't fit the paddle 100% so a little fiddling with the placement was required. I use it for the top shape. The tuner holes in the template never line up with the pitbull kits. Just print it at 100%.
cheers,
Gav.

Well I've sanded. I've agonised, I've sanded some more and I've plotted. State of play so far:
- All machine sanding marks are sanded out.
- Nut, PUPS, Machine Heads and Bridge decisions are made, along with wiring choice.
- Body and neck are ready for a TM fill coat
As much as it pains me to do so, the flamed top is going to have to be covered. The reason for this is that the bridge I want to use will need to have the existing anchor points filled and new ones drilled. A trans burst finish is not going to hide these filled holes.
The spec for it was simple and unadorned, that also means eliminating a tone and a volume pot and running with only one of each, so two of the control holes will need to go as well. Probably something I should have considered at order, but what can you do.
So far the only thing done that isn't Sanding or Plotting is this:
I've got some sourcing to do, and its nearly Christmas, so this'll probably go on hold until into the new year when we shall pick it up again. Hopefully by then I may have finished an EXA-1!

I like the headstock shape Frankie. Is this the final version? It's a great take on the classic shape, but with personal flair. Great work.
cheers,
Gav.

That's pretty much how it's going to stay.
I was pondering putting a downward curve from the l/r points to the outer edge, but I kind of like it how it is.
The pencil line around the edge was going to be a 45 degree chamfer but the spec is simple and unadorned so I'm going to drop that as well.

Love that headstock. I wouldn't change a thing.
Yurp, that bit i will do, but not until after i have sourced the machine heads.
