Hey, I think it looks great and amber will suit well, keep that trick up your sleeve.

Looking great Wokks. I think the walnut will suit the Amber stain much better. Bring on the colour!

    cheers,
    Gav.

    Looking the bee's knees Warren.

I think I agree with Gav, the walnut might suit the amber stain better. But hey, you got enough for a few more bodies, so try something different next time.

got the final sanding done and wondered what stains to put on so did a sample of wudtone amber and burning sun.
Ended up putting amber on the top and burning sun back and sides. Got a blackheart sassafras veneer glued to the headstock and dam it ripped off a small piece on the left side near the E string tuner hole so think I'll have to sand it off and do that again. Luckily I got heaps of the veneer left

Also got DB's tele clock finished

not worth starting a new thread so on the weekend got 2nd coat of satin on (first 2 pics) and this is how it looks mounted and sharing some time with the other half of the neck till I next catch up with DB. Looks heaps better than the golden Rod original 4D clock !

Woks what if you reprofiled the head-stock sides?
