Hi Stan, it is very interesting you have done the make your own stains. I have been reading up ion making Tobacco stains and Walnut Stains.
    Both are water based.
To make tobacco stain soak a reasonable quantity of tobacco in Amonia and water for a few days. Strain and apply.
To make walnut, crush some walnut shells and soak in water for a few days. again, strain and apply.

    Simples, schklick

    haha...
    Moccona for warm tones.
De caf would be a bit light, more twangy -suited to Teles and the like...

PK , Ilike the idea of that walnut stain, would like to see a result on that

I never thought you could use Coffee as a stain on guitar bodies, can't wait to see the finished guitar.

Hey Stan, You know if your sis is out at a late night gig and needs a lift she can just lick the front of her LP..

I really like the way the coffee popped the grain as well

Cheers PK, dont know how she will go: it's going to have purple over and then clear, she'd need a tongue like a cat

apart from the fact I have painted it, this truss rod doesn't look right to me.
And ,no, it doesn't tap back in
    Only just noticed this:

What's happened to that thing Stan? I just went back to page one and the truss rod looks okay there. It's slipped out somewhere along the way huh?

Mightve been a bad route for the rod.
