Sure am mate. Just took the tape off and it held up perfectly. Just went over the binding with some steel wool, gonna retape it now, prime again then it's time for some colour!

nah man it's faux binding like what PRS do on theirs. basically you prep the wood underneath and before you prime it, mask off a 1/4 inch band with painters tape. here is a pic

So shot some colour in the neck yesterday. After it has dried the silver has come up real nice but the black In places has dried really dull where other seem to be nice and glossy. Is it caus it my have been too cold to spray?

ah ok got it Andrew, thats a cool effect to show a strip of the ash wood, that should look really cool with the silver burst top. I thought if it was real binding you got it all done very quickly !

Andrew with the neck paint, doubt it was temperature that caused the dullness, unless you live in Canberra.
Its the first colour coat right ? Give it a wet sand and hopefully next coat will be more uniform. Are you using spray cans ? A tip is to put the can in warm water for half hour before and give it a really good shake before application. Make sure the neck is clear of any debris before spraying

Awesome mate thanks for the tip. I'm in rural qld, Bowen basin where it's really flat and nights get pretty cool. Do you think wind May effect it? I was trying to do passes in between gusts yesterday arvo, temps were about 15.
