So it's all working properly with no hum on your cardboard wiring template then?, if so, then maybe it might have something to do with the insides of the guitar, or maybe something that only causes the hum when the pickups, etc are installed in the guitar.
I'm guessing that it could be that the bridge needs to be connected to a ground wire that connects to a suitable ground point on one of the pots, try re-installing the pickups and controls, etc in your guitar then see if you can get your husband to check with a multimeter to see if there's continuity between the bridge and the sleeve connection of the output jack, if there's no continuity then that's most likely what's causing the hum.
How loud is the hum in comparison to the sound you get when tapping the pickups?, is it a fairly loud hum, or a soft background hum?
I know from experience just how frustrating it can be to try and find the cause of a fault in electrical equipment, just keep persevering and eventually you'll have a win.
Hope that helps.

Hey Doc, no it is humming in the cardboard template. If you check out my video (below) you will hear the sound it is making.
The other night when I did it there was no buzz/hum, then when installed it buzzed like it is now so I took out the loom and am where I am now... Back to square 1... Hopefully I get it sortedthinking of getting braided cable and going form the top again :/

@Shazzrandom: I'm not an expert in guitar cabling, but you seem to have a lot of long unshielded cable runs.
To the more knowledgeable guys, could these be the issue, picking up noise from TV, lights, etc?
As an electrical engineer who hasn't touched real electrical engineering for 20 years it all looks like a lot if nice antennas.
Shazz, were you in the same conditions when you tested it clean the first time? Ie. did you have less electrical devices on around you and were you testing in the same place in your house?

Shazz on the test video the circuit isn't earthed to anything so it probably will buzz. Some of the solder is caked on the back of the pots so I am thinking one of the pots aren't earthed properly and not making full contact with a pot casing.
Double check that no earth points on pots have come apart from the casing
Otherwise re-do the soldering with braided wire might be the best option.
Also Fred has made a good point about any electrical devices nearby could be causing interference.
If I build a hollow body in the future I will only use braided wire from experience from other buillders.
That white wire not connected to anything I presume is the bridge post earth wire. Try exposing some bare wire and hold it with your fingers to see if that earths the circuit and stops the hum

Yeah, I reckon changing those long wire runs to some shielded/braided wire should definitely help alot in getting rid of that hum I hear in the video, I just watched it and at times, to my ears, it sounds like you're actually picking up some radio-stations along with the hum, a classic symptom of Radio-Frequency Interference, something which should be cured by the braided wiring.
