    Thanks Frank,
It really helps to know others did the same as I'm planning to do .... With trepidation, I tread the same path ! (Dremmel in one hand, and small flat chisel n the other).

Does the plug - jack connection look normal ?
(Is this a stereo jack or something ?)
I bell'ed out a mono plug connection and apart from the amount of 'plug' hanging out of the sock, I'm good to go with this ...

You're more than welcome mate, and helping out is what the forum is for.

Just remember, little bits at a time, one or two passes then test fit. When I pared down the cavity wall, i marked a dowel to indicate where the jack threads would end and also where the edge of the entry hole sat on the dowel. I kept paring, then replaced the dowel to gauge how much more i had to remove to engage the thread with a washer in front of the nut.

I think those jacks are stereo, but used with only a mono connection. That one looks like a shorter version, there should be some form of rubber/plastic washer behind that flange though, to help it seat securely against the bottom of the hole in the body.

Ay yi yi yi yi! ... got the mibanez together. Wired and strung. Tuned and intonated. Bugger me, the nut is way too high.... don't even need my glasses to see why open chords are all out on the high strings. Also, can't see how the locking bars would work on the two high strings. Vee shape up or down, either way, it just doesn't work. Thinking of bashing it flat for that pair of strings.

    It has defeated me tonight....
I have to re adjust the FR anyway, so, opportunity to remove the nut and see what I can do to lower one end. ...

The FR is hard work !

Aha! Removed the shim from under the nut and replaced it with a short piece of thick neck just under the low E. Seems just about right! This lets the high E end sit lower.

Backed the strings off and got the bridge level and blocked it there with my $1. 12mm tremblock. 5x 20c coins taped together. And backed the springs off.

    Retuned.
    Re intonated.
Re tensioned the springs until the coins dropped out.
    Bridge still level.

Actually did a little retune using the spring tension.
    Locked the nut.
And a final fine tune with the adjusters.

    Maybe took 20-30 mins.
Was looking like firewood two nights ago. Loving it now.

Oh... And the TL-1 arrived today too!
