Dedmans RD kustom

Glued the neck today, everything lined up nice.
Yesterday I made a brass control cavity cover and truss rod cover, they are currently in my brass tumbler ( used for cleaning ammunition cases) getting polished. Tuners have arrived, decided I may as well go with a brass nut as well, that's due tomorrow along with a Vitamin T capacitor. All going well, I should be able to start clear coating on Friday or Saturday.

no idea Nitro, I've never built a bass before either but I'm thinking the only difference is a longer neck and 2 less strings :P

Got the final clear coats on today. Still need to fit the brass nut, do the final polish, polish the frets and wire her up.

looking sweet dedman, nice backround too, no magpies?
after i look at the fine craftmanship in these threads, i enjoy checkin out the sheds, backyards. workshops, tools, ideas etc

Thanks Waz, it really deepenup nicely with the clear, Iwas bit worried it was going to go muddy.

Magpies are busy with chicks atm Guv. You can see my neighbours old dual throne outdoor dunny in the background there LOL

I was wondering whose it was and glad you cleared that up.

Dual throne? Impressive but who would want to do a dual dump out in the back yard? Probably built in the late 60's or early 70's I suspect.

probably more like the 50s Waz, the place next door was one of the first houses in the street.

Anyway, nearly done. the brass nut I got was the wrong width so I put a plastic one in till I can get around to either sourcing a correct brass one or fitting a bone one O have here.More pics after it gets decent strings and I clean the finger prints off
