Looking great. I love the color I bet in natural light it looks different without the purple hue. But I think you are gonna have me sweet jb.

Not too often that the end stain result turns out how you intended as the colour swatches are close but never truly accurate. All part of the exciting discovery phase of DIY guitar builds. Once you add hardware and scratch plates to provide some contrast it may look a bit different too but hopefully something you are happy with.

So here's a mock-up of the body - the pick-guard and hardware definitely helps - also helps overcome the visual issues with having so many different grain patterns due to the number of pieces of wood that contributed to the body. Have completed the addition of shielding foil. Just waiting for the neck finish to fully cure, and the arrival of the bone nut so that I can complete the set-up process.

Doing the bridge alignment thing with 2 pieces of string and that temporary plastic nut.
I've gone with the kit tuners for now - I'm holding off on any further upgrades until I see what sort of result I get on the initial build.

ID:	20256 Well it's all together, and looking pretty good I think Just awaiting the arrival of that bone nut and some dingo wax to finish off the fret board and then we get to see how good a job I did of leveling those frets. Fingers crossed. All of the grounding has good continuity, and I've been able to verify connectivity of the PUPS and correct operation of the vol and tone controls so it's all looking fairly promising.

Yes. I thought I'd stick with the kit hardware for my first build to see what sort of result I get. Might look at some more esoteric options for the next time around.
May even do some upgrades on this one if I really like how it plays
