    Was going to go with a skunk strip with LED lighting along the top - other than that - I wonder if DB's finally lost a finger to the router and decided to and drop the bottom E string - three fingers, three strings...

    Dark strips in the slots merging with a matching dark stripe down the fretboard rout.

    Or, hehe....

    MOP strips in the fret slots across the full width of the fretboard and a clear epoxy pour into the routed section, thus giving part transparent fretboard with 3D looking combined fret and side markers! (Not in DB's world though)

    We have Ebony and Quilted Big Leaf Maple bitz...
