Pretty happy with my headstock.
Quickly whipped up a table mount for my jigsaw and it made cutting out the headstock much easier.

nice one Ben looks like you cut nice and close to the line. Make sure that jigsaw is securely fixed, won't be much fun with missing toes xmas lunch !

Hi Ben, I'd use a fairly fine file, not a harsh rasp as they rip off too much material. A flat one for straighter sections and a round one for curved areas.
A file isn't a must, you could start on 40 grit paper and work up to about 320 grit. If you wrap the sandpaper around a round object is good for the curved sections.
Good luck with the string through, I'd have a practice on some 40mm thick scrap wood, it's quite hard to get the holes lined up and equally spaced, but your drill guide should help
