I might see if I can do a quick demo with the new bridge installed so you can hear the difference, will post the link once it's sorted.

Here it is, I recorded it clean so you can easily hear the difference the new bridge has made, to my ears it sounds a lot more tuneful, especially the high E-String:

sounds heaps better Doc. The stock bridge must have had badly cut saddle string grooves

I had a look at the notches in the saddles on the original bridge and some of them did look a bit worn, Stewmac recommended putting a slight notch on the Nashville Bridge when installing but I haven't done that to the new bridge yet, I might leave it as is, seems to be working well enough, You can imagine what the guitar is going to sound like with the new Entwistle HV58 pickups, might sound like a million dollars.

I think that it is about 80 to 90% there already in terms of playability, if my Les Paul studio ended up with a faulty pickup and I had no other spare guitar I'd be happy to use the SG to play an open-mic gig at the Happy Yes club in Brownsmart as it is.

    Nice one Doc.

You can spin the D saddle around to get a tad more movement, this should let you get the intonation spot on.
The only mod you may need to do is to carefully file the groove so it falls back towards the tail piece.

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....

I've got a set of 6 nut-slot files in 42-09 gauge, they'll be okay as tools for making the slight grooves, won't they?, I've got 46-10 Gauge strings on the SG at the moment.
