@Pabs, @Fretty - thanks for the feedback guys. Sounds like it's unanimous. @Fretty - yeah it's 'Red Tortoiseshell' which is much lighter than the traditional tortoiseshell colour.

    cheers,
    Gav.

I concur, the left is the goods. To my eye (which requires prescription lenses!), the left is a lot more focused than the right, and thus matches the clear black grain, which is nice and crisp.

Great colours, though, and beautiful wood finish Gav!

Nah, @Woks I was just planning on chucking the stock pickups in. I have some GFS 62 vintage pups in my cupboard for another build, but the bridge pickup route is a little too small for it. I didn't enlarge it before I started, so I think I'll just leave it with the stock electrics.

my *next* ash tele might get the works LOL.

    cheers,
    Gav.

Let me know how you go and I might grab myself a set as well..

no worries Gav, for $95 for the pair can't go wrong. Might be a week or so before I order them and try them out for size - got too many projects on now. I can't remember if I checked the bridge pup location and made sure the bridge is in the correct position. Hopefully won't require any routing
