cheers Barge, looks like I got a lot more research to do on a clear coat that will keep the paint bright and shiny, I got some help from Shane (username Calais) can hopefully point me in the right direction.

got some more work done on the chromey build Friday. Painted pup covers and control knobs chrome and put all the electronics on the chrome pickguard. Since the clear coat dulled the body a bit and some parts went grey on the back I decided not to clear the headstock. What a mistake I accidentally spilled a heap of turps on it and went to rub it off and made a mess of the headstock. Might have to sand it back and recoat it and waste a vinyl logo - doh !
Here's how it looked before I stuffed up !

Bit of a bummer about that headstock bro, luckily a man of your talent will have it back on track in no time. Looking sweet though man, I'm really digging the whole chrome theme.
