Man, the starkness of the white with the red pick guard makes a fantastic contrast. I didn't think it was going to be so vivid. Very impressed. Pure going to end up in a fairly exclusive club when this is finished, Mike. Not many have made this axe. It won't be too long and you'll be gigging with it.

I see in the photos you used Rustoleum primer. Is Rustoleum what you used for your colour coats too? Really nice result from the can by the looks. I need to try and work out what brand to do my MB with, and if it is Rustoleum you've used, I might need to give it a go.

Hey guys, sorry for the inactivity this past week. Moved out last weekend and only got internet yesterday morning, so had a fair bit of catching up to do!
Thanks for all the compliments! Really happy with how it's turned out thus far. I spent the day today building a spraying booth with my dad so I can actually spray at my new place! The tenancy agreement said no spray painting, so I should be able to get away with it in a booth in the backyard I'm hoping!
West, I used Rustoleum top coat as well. Absolutely love the finish of it! I went into Bunnings and asked for the most expensive satin white top coat spray they had and rustoleum is what I got haha. Definitely recommend it and apparently it "covers twice the area compared to other spray paints", so I guess you get a little more bang for your buck haha.
Hoping to get back into it tomorrow night and spray what should be my last or second last top coat. Then I can finally add my decal (which finally arrived!) and get onto those lovely clear sealing top coats.
Hey guys, so BIG update!
It's finished! Finally. Sorry I haven't posted anything about it. I took it in to have the bridge set up for me by a professional, seeing as I had no idea how floating tremolos work. Got it back yesterday, so I took up to my parents' place to get dad to help me with the electrical side of things. He's an electronics engineer, and he asked if I'd let him do it (he likes tinkering every so often) and bloody hell, now I know why he's paid so much haha. We used some super expensive cable that he had laying around from years ago that he never used, and used basically none of the wiring that came with the kit. The result is one AMAZING sounding guitar!
I then took it home, touched some stuff in, restrung, plugged it in, tuned it and BAM, done.
So incredibly stoked to have finished my first build. Taking it to a gig I'm playing tonight, so I'm hoping it turns a few heads haha.
Thanks to everyone who gave me advice throughout the whole build, it has been invaluable
All the solder spots were my doing haha. Dad didn't have his solder sucker on him so we couldn't clean it up, hence the little bit of mess haha.
