    Yeah great show, great mix of songs and a bit of comedy to boot, getting a pic with him was a great bonus. I've seen him 4 times and he's always very willing to meet and greet afterwards. He's very aware that it's his fans that make it happen so he always takes the time to shake a hand and take a pic.

    A friend and I got along to the roadshow in Canberra tonight. Guitar-porn-o-rama. A little too much yakkin' and not enough playing, but then, they've gotta talk about the guitars, so no biggie. Excellent playing, and the mix wasn't over-loud, so a very cool night all up. A fairly young bloke won the giveaway acoustic, and nobody in the crowd begrudged him that.

    Thanks to Scott for pointing me at this - had great fun!

    A few more notes on the Roadshow, now that I'm properly awake.

    Being the 60th Anniversary of the Stratocaster, there was a very heavy Strat emphasis on the whole evening. Not a whole lot of Tele action, though what there was, was appreciated. The show opened with a medley of classic Strat riffs, so very well played by the guys.

    The basses also got a nice little spotlight, which was satisfying for the apparently 30% of the audience who put their hands up to be identified as bassists!

    Very interesting was the reissue Starcaster (that's the black semi-hollow thing at front right of the general pic above). There was a little gentle ribbing about the axe-like treatment of the headstock - here's a close-up.

    But that gives me an idea for a kick-ass headstock for a future project - the Buffy axe!

    @Glenn - it'd have to be a Warlock - DB's favourite - I know - he's been saving the sample build to last!

    Yeah not sure what our movements on the night will be yet, but I think the wife and I will head over to the newly refurbished National Hotel or maybe the SAil & Anchor for a beer and bite to eat beforehand then head back over to the fly by night club. Might see you there if I can pick out the face(s)

    A top night, for those yet to go - well worth it, some great gearhead type chat, and very well played music. Big strat theme as mentioned, but even demoed MIM Strats all the way up to Custom Shop wonders. Not enough Tele action, but great fun night

    Looking forward to the WA show tomorrow night. Especially keen to check out the Dimension bass range.
