    that is a slick piece of woodworking DB - nice.

    I thought you were gonig to out a celery top on top of the blackwood body, but this is really interesting and a cool contrast.

    Some more progress shots.
    Turning two chunks of tree into a laminated neck and fingerboards.... (Canadian Rock Maple)

    First chunk gets split into three, dressed on the planer jointer and slapped together with some Titebond.

    The second chunk gets split in half length ways then both halves are sliced again.

    Next a couple of passes through the drum sander and lo, we have enough finger boards for the next half dozen Guitars and Basses. 8-)

    Extra bits added to form the headstock...
    When the glue has cured it will get the drum sander treatment then profile cut out on the bandsaw... Fun!

    gee, I never knew a neck can be up to 5 pieces glued together ! Good stuff that titebond !

    Next time you start a neck from scratch let me know please DB, I'd like to see the steps in person !

    JBA-4 - assembled - final tweaks
    Telemonster double scale tele - finish tobacco burst on body and sand neck

    scratch oak.rose gum Jazzmaster - assembled needs setup
    MK-2 Mosrite - assembled - play in
    Ash tele with Baritone neck - neck pup wiring tweaks and play in

    Sure can Woks, I have seen necks made up of eight different types of timber laminated... A tad over the top but visually very impressive..

    I have plans on the go for a neck through Jag six style, when I get to it I will let you know.
