Even here in Wollongong at 10:00PM that was sooo good. Watching the life in the timber being released from under the sanding dist.

I know exactly what you mean. I had teases of the the quality throughout the build, especially when we wet the sides to go into the bending jig, but to see our complete and finished is just mind blowing!!

So in love with this timber!!

After 2 coats, I knocked it back with some very light sanding at 400grit, then applied 2 more coats, another knock back, and one final coat

Damn that is looking nice, if it sounds half as good as it looks it's going to be pretty special

Once the final coat was finished and dry, final knock back was with 0000 steel wool

    Day 10: Part 4

Don't get used to the truss rod cover, it broke in two when I tried to drill it for the locating screw!

    Started adding bits and pieces

    Day 10: Part 5
Love the shape of the volute and Gotoh 510 tuners

The Silver Quandong has so many colors going through it

Head stock is a little plain without a logo, but a new truss rod cover will make a difference.

Have I mentioned how much I love this timber!!!

That is absolutely superb Zandit75, you have both my envy and admiration. I really want to hear this now.

Hand crafting guitars, because Death Rays are expensive.

Unfortunately you'll have to wait till tomorrow!! But thank you for the kind words!!

My body is almost at its limit, my fingers are aching, feet are killing me, my nose is so filled with sawdust I don't think I'll ever get it clear!! I'm just glad I've had no reaction to the dust, apparently it is an irritant to some people.

But, I'd never miss out on this opportunity if it becomes available again!
