I was looking for a rustic type of color for the back and neck so I tried some Teak on a small piece of wood and liked it. Unfortunately the color came out way too dark on the guitar. No matter, I will live with it,it’s sort of growing on me.
I then gave the top and headstock a couple of coats of blue stain, I’ve always wanted a blue guitar. I hope it’s going to look good with some clear over it.

I reckon you are going to be very pleasantly surprised with that back when you get some final coats on it. I think its going to come up well. Ditto for the blue, thats a wonderful shade. Great work as always!!

Yeah I agree with FW, you might get a surprise once there's some finish over the top

Well, a quick test of parts reveals a small problem, the 5-way switch is too tall for the body thickness of the guitar and I won’t be able to fit the rear cover plate. I have chiseled a small trench to sit it in, about 2 mmm deep. Yep, still sticks up about 3 mm. Looking on the internet I have found a similar switch with folded down terminals, unfortunately the terminals on the supplied switch are part of the circuit board and can’t be folded down. So I went down to my local guitar store and bought the other type for 10 bucks and it fits perfect.

I had a similar switch issues with the orphan problem child IB -1 I got from Tony. I ended up filling the switch slot with a rose wood blank from the end of the fretboard and mounting an on/on/on miniswitch.

How much clearance under the rear cover plate as those solder joints may need to be very neat and tidy to avoid making contact?
