Yes, I always prefer a natural finish on a spalt.
Yes it will be a toss of the coin, the more i look at it the less i want to touch the top, meybe some ebont timbermate on the back and sides with a white wash and natural on top.
I dont know it will be a few weeks before i start so a bit time to think about it.

Bit the bullet today and did some sanding and put a t/o coat on the top to seal it, it looks too nice to cover up with stain. Back and sides going to ebony timbermate, stain bondi blue then do a liming white over the top
Looks great. What a beautiful piece of wood.

A smother of timbermate
Sanded back and the grain on the back looks great
Ive been looking on line for some spalted maple veneer for the headstock but cant seem to find any does anyone know of where to get some.
