Hi Murph,

I had almost the same issues on my LP build. Check my signature. I als had a misaligned join in the bookmatched veneer but when I did a mock up I noticed that the neck and bridge positions were ok. So I decided to let the skewed veneer join to be as it is. Al long as the neck and bridge position is ok I'm ok.

I also had the neck that felt a bit wobbly when I did dry fit but I managed to correct this by chiseling of a very thin slice from the heel of the neck and just kept checking by dry fitting.

Overall I feel as if your kit was manufactured by the same person as mine...

Interesting. Maybe a QC issue needs to be looked at? I will put up some pics when mine is complete, or at least strung up, though I'm waiting on pots so it may be a couple of weeks before I get them done. Hopefully when complete it won't be an issue, but I'll know it's there!!

Hey mate. QC can be a bit hit and miss on these. It sounds like you have most of this sorted. The important things to get right are the neck ligament with the body, neck squareness - left right, up down and rotationally. Bridge, stoptail squareness with the neck - as it sets up the string alignment.
The rest like pickup position can then be adjusted to suit. As has been said, often the book matching isn't square, which is a shame.

I completely agree Stan. I will make sure I use physical lines for setting up from now on, instead of the build lines.
