I am yet to get the crf out, but I ride a 91 cbr250rr to work and back most days unless it's too bloody hot, you can melt right out of your riding gear up here. Fun little bike. Flying V idea sounds great, very iconic style. What are your plans for your strat?

I am replacing the bridge humbucker, pickguard and the tone, volume nobs

Hi and welcome, EXC. Pickguard replacement could be interesting if a standard Strat one doesn't fit. It looks as though one should, though you might end up filling and drilling some of the fixing holes in the body for it.

Standard strat pickguard won't fit I've got a blank one on order, I'm planning to trace the old one onto the new one so it's the same shape
