Awesome axe mate... hope mine turns out half as good! Love how you blended colour tones... mine will all be DT Coolangatta Gold... but I think it will look good given the neck and body woods show off the colours differently. It's a start anyways, will have to think about which one to build next!

First lot of intensifying coats on today. Gave it all a very light sand with 1200 grit and applied. Can't wait to do the front!

I found some parts that I thought was the grain but it looks like glue... given I have come this far is it too bad too sad?

colour looks great Slayer, can you please post some close up pics of the glue affected areas ? Might be worth getting a small wire brush before you go any further. Also mark the neck pocket where it meets the body. Try keep stain off the neck pocket that will be glued to the pocket.
You dig the new Metallica album Hardwired ?

EDIT as Fretty said I recommend shaping your headstock, even a curve would look cool.

Can I suggest that you shape the headstock now, before you finish staining the neck. It definitely helps the guitar look complete when the headstock is not just a paddle.

Thanks for the advice all. Yeah was thinking of shapping the headstock...found a template.

I will take more pics including the glue.

Yeah mate don't mind it actually... goes for a bit too long though. I am more into their older stuff haha

Front stained... not looking too bad. What do you guys normally do before the final coat using DT?
The vid says to use 0000 steel wool but I have been warned away from it. A light grit sand and apply?
