Thread: The Telecaster

    Thanks Brendan.
Unfortunatley my daughter is away at Uni so I'll be doing the build alone.
Can't wait for her to be back during mid semester break so she can play it.
I'll do as you suggest and give the body a hit with 400 grit before colouring it.

Sounds great - mine's a bit younger (11) so not up for Uni yet .

Thanks Wokka... I've been working on the headstock shape and this is what I've come up with... it's a 'personalised' version of one I found online.Click image for larger version.

I think I have an Abalone shell here somewhere... if I can find it I might do an inlay :-)

I like the headstock shape Rob, should look very cool with an inlay.
It always looks the wrong way around looking at a lefty !

The neck is ready for finishing... Sanded, shaped and ready to go. I rounded off the corners at each end to give the neck a smoother feel.
I decided to leave the inlay to my next Pitbull guitar build

Has anyone tried Sandalwood oil or Eucalyptus oil on their Maple fretboard?
I have some of both of those but don't have citrus oil or tru oil.
