    I'll sort that out. Plan is to full electronics upgrade if my upgrades achieve desired improvement to playability so I'll need to set up and play it a bit with old pups etc. I do have a good feeling about this one.... the schoolboy errors in my first build are being fixed...

    Looking good! My biggest shock so far is the cost for some of the simplest looking tools.

    Yes.. Don't come cheap... Improvise where you can. Check if your fretboard is level = get a ruler and cut some notches. Levelling beam = spirit level. Fret rocker = Stanley blade etc. etc.

    fret files are a killer, cost half as much as a kit does. i need to get one sorted but cant afford it atm

    Yes, they are expensive. I've tried cheaper ones with limited success. What has worked well for me in the past with minimal cost is this:

    Very simple and effective for one-off/infrequent jobs.

    It's good to revisit your first build and now you know so much more about improving the way it plays, this axe should play heaps better.

    Yep Gotoh tuners Woks. My standard replacement tuners. Can't think of the model off the top of my head but their not locking
