Crusy if you aren't a fan of the shape of the JB you could always modify the shape and put some cool carves in
Current Builds and status
scratch end grain pine tele - first clear coat on !
JBA-4 - assembled - final tweaks
Telemonster double scale tele - finish tobacco burst on body and sand neck
Completed builds
scratch oak.rose gum Jazzmaster - assembled needs setup
MK-2 Mosrite - assembled - play in
Ash tele with Baritone neck - neck pup wiring tweaks and play in
indeed, am starting to think along those lines.
Regards,
Neil
Oh yes! Do it! Would be cool seeing a modded J shape! Listen to us bass players Crusader![]()
lol... I am listening, the J bass has through body strings right, that's the other thing i would change..

Neil
Crusy no the J bass doesn't have through body strings, they are fed from the rear of the supplied bridges

Can just buy a bridge though to get it and use a drill press or get dead straight holes drilled in the body!
would anyone have pics of the JB-4 necks ?
(Note: fretboard has trapezoid inlays, not dots as pictured)
I cannot find any pics showing the trapezoids ...
