nice one Doc, lets hope they don't have much backlash. I think you should look for a truss rod cover with Angus on would be a nice touch.
Did you record the guitar playing as bought ie no mods ?
    Current Builds and status
scratch end grain pine tele - first clear coat on !
    JBA-4 - assembled - final tweaks
Telemonster double scale tele - finish tobacco burst on body and sand neck

    Completed builds
scratch oak.rose gum Jazzmaster - assembled needs setup
    MK-2 Mosrite - assembled - play in
Ash tele with Baritone neck - neck pup wiring tweaks and play in

Apart from the new tuners, on the recording the guitar has none of the other planned mods done to it yet, what I'll do is post links to the before and after recordings once all the mods have been done, I'll need to wait till next week to order two Graphtech Tusq XL nuts (one extra in case I make a mistake) and the two Entwistle pickups cause I'm very low on money at the moment, but I will make sure though.

I wonder where I could get/find a Truss Rod cover with Angus on it?, I could try eBay I suppose.

Maybe not the truss rod cover but a copy of the Angus Signature Headstock decal

Cheers for that, I'll see if I can buy one when I order the Tusq XL nuts and Entwistle pickups next week, got it bookmarked now.

I think it would be really cool if we could see if we can get the guitar looking as close as we can to the real thing, this'll be a fun project.

    New Update:

Since you guys seem pretty keen to hear what the guitar sounds like stock and with the new Tuners, I've decided to post the stock demo recording here for you, when listening to the clean part listen carefully to what the high E-String sounds like, it has a sitar-ish kind of buzz to it which I'm attributing to the stock nut and bridge having issues, hopefully the new nut and bridge will fix that:

    New Update 2:

I have just tried out the guitar after installing the new replacement bridge, and what a difference it is making already, the open E-String sitar-ish buzz is gone and the guitar sounds alot more tuneful with a bit of treble bite to it, it still has the stock pickups installed on it so going by this the guitar should sound really good with the new Tusq XL nut and Entwistle HV58 pickups.

    Update:

I've manged to get the 12th Fret action as close as I can to Gibson specs, with the new bridge lowered as low as it can go on both sides the 12th Fret action for both of the E-Strings is about 5/64 Inch, the high E-String should be 3/64 Inch as per Gibson specs but I can't lower the bridge any further since it is hard up against the body on both sides, most likely due to not enough back-angle on the neck, but it's okay with me, I've also got the neck relief adjusted to .012 at the 7th fret, and the string saddles are adjusted for intonation as best as I could, I think the makers of the guitar may have placed the bridge post holes a bit further from the neck than they should have since the D-String saddle is hard up against the bridge trench end.

Yeah, roughly about 2.5mm or so, it's definitely lower than it was when I first got the guitar, have you checked out the demo clip I posted?, that was before I replaced the original bridge, the new bridge got rid of most of the sitar-buzzing on the high E-String, there's still a little bit of sitar-buzzing (first fret action is fine so it's definitely the original nut that's at fault) but I reckon the new Tusq XL nut should cure it completely.
