Hey Kels, ref Muse preset the big difference between the actual preset and Matts sound is him. It's amazing how much of his tone is in his fingers and the way he actually plays. James Ivey (James is the guy that did the presets)will be the first one to admit he's definitely no Matt Bellamy lol. You could put 10 guitarists in a room and ask them to get Matts sound, or Claptons everyone's preset would be different. It also has a lot to do with how we hear things too. Saw Matt Belamy and Muse Wembley 2007.i was blown away with his guitar playing but jeez he plays the piano equally as well. Great talent,but he'd be the first to tell you that lol.

Yeah true, I even met Muse in 2013 and I'll tell you when Matt (kindly) let me have a rip of his rig it definitely sounds different, and it's an amazing rig too!
I totally agree with his piano, IIRC he is classically trained and holds a music degree, smart dude, wicked awesome songs, vocals which to get you would need someone to kick you down under before you went on stage....
