    Looks great Crundes.

I put some contours on my Tele build a while ago. I am sure the traditionalists would hate it but I love it, comfort is everything when playing a guitar.

Cheers gents. Robin: I couldn't agree more. Really like the comfort of a strat so why not transfer it across to a tele. Alot of the new tele standards (MIM) are coming out with belly carves now too so I guess Fender is thinking along the same lines.

I have finished the binding and just need to fine tune a couple of areas but I'm very happy with how it has turned out. Much quicker and easier than with my other tele. I didn't bother with heating the binding and found that saved a bunch of time and still got a good result.

I quickly scraped the binding and then used a dremel with a sanding disk attachment to neaten up the edges and get rid of the remaining glue.

Still not %100 sure where I want this build to go but I'm still thinking black and I feel like I want to fill some of the cavities and route a couple of P90 pockets so I don't need a pickguard. I think I mainly want to test out my new router! Wish me luck....

nice job Tim the binding job looks very nice. Are you cutting the channel with the dremel plunge router attachment ?
Looks like you have a join on the lower horn ? I found the lower horn the hardest to get the binding tight and flush in the channel as it's the biggest direction change of the body shape.
Yeah great idea toss the pickguard and 2 x P90's will rock dude !

Hey Wokks, nah no join. 1 piece all the way. Not sure where you mean but I think it is probably just where I haven't cleaned up the excess binding shavings from scraping or sanding, which gives it a less rounded look in one section. Still needs a bit of tidying up.

ah all good Tim, one of the photos (1st and 2nd pic in your first post of photos) there is a long piece of binding extending from the lower horn but that must be below the horn/binding. Optical illusion dot com !

Ah I see what you mean Wokks. That was a spare bit of binding I used as a wedge to stop the clamp from slipping off the horn. It definitely looks as if it's attached though.

And to answer your earlier question. Yes, still using the dremel and plunge router attachment. I find it works really well and the bit still seems to be sharp so that's always a plus.
