Sure is, it's currently primer greythe grain in each of the three pieces was quite good but it ran in three different directions so wouldn't work with a translucent finish.
The timber floor under the guitar is NSW spotted gum and I have plenty of spare so I see a chambered Nashville Tele in the future.
To save googling a Nashville Tele has three pups with a Strat pup in the middle position and normal Strat switching which I may change to 5 way

Quick update, primer has been applied and sanded along with a few coats of colour which I will let cure until the end of next week before flatting off and clear coating.
While the clear coats are curing I'll source all the black bits necessary for final assembly
love the yellow colour DK.
So you thought a stain on the ash grain wouldn't work with the grain near the joins ?
we need the PBG factory to build a one piece ash body for a few extra bucks !

Correct Wok, to my eyes it just didn't work so I decided on a solid colour but until I stood in front of the paint stand I had no idea what it would be.
Back in about 1975 when my wife and I had just started going out together I was dropping her home after the gig finished and we were sitting in the car out the front saying our goodnights when her father appeared on the front balcony and roared "Janice, that's enough it's time to come in" he was wearing bright yellow pyjamas at the time. ( probably about 2 in the morning on a week night )
So the guitar will be bright yellow and named "Count" which was his nickname in his memory.
SWMBO has seen the colour but so far is unaware of the name![]()
haha ok Dave, thats a cool story of the background of the name and colour for this axe
sounds like the Count was a chop buster !
@ Fretty I agree a 2 piece ash body with the join down the centreline would be better than 3 or 4 piece

He was a really decent human being but he was a blokes bloke, he was builder by trade but at the time was the secretary manager of the club we were working at when I met the wife. ( he passed away on 14/05 this year, a long life well lived )
She was one of the hostesses at a fundraising function for Neville Wran before he became NSW premier and the band was part of the entertainment, we played there 3 nights a week for a few years
OK cool story DK,
Sorry to hear of your father in law passed only 3 weeks ago.
